Our Facilities
Osborne House is a Victorian house beautifully located overlooking the Severn Estuary..
We aim to provide a facility that makes sense to the people who live here. This means that Osborne House is likely to be more cluttered than you might expect, however this is what people with a dementia need and we are more than happy to explain how this helps improve wellbeing.
Clevedon
Clevedon is an attractive Victorian seaside town with excellent amenities where families may take their loved one or visit as a destination itself. The amenities include:
- A Victorian Pier which is not only interesting to walk along but also is visited by the steam paddle ship Waveney during the summer season
- Interesting and attractive walks along the cliff tops - we would be delighted to provide ideas and suggestions including places to chat with the local anglers who regularly catch Cod and Dogfish (also known as Rock Salmon) in the Estuary
- A miniature train which runs most weekends at the Salthouse Fields park
- An interesting and challenging golf course at Clevedon Golf course
- A tidal swimming pool (swimming in the Estuary can be hazardous due to strong currents, and in Spring one of the highest tides in the World at around 14 metres)
Excellent local facilities such as:
- Excellent local cafes, pubs and restaurants on the Beach
- A range of quality shops and bars on Hill Road
- Practical shops including Tesco on Kenn Road
- Cadbury Garden Centre in nearby Congresbury
- The White Horse in Gordano - a pub caught in time with original flagged floors and beer served from casks on stilts in the taproom
