Our Facilities

Osborne House is a Victorian house beautifully located overlooking the Severn Estuary..

We aim to provide a facility that makes sense to the people who live here. This means that Osborne House is likely to be more cluttered than you might expect, however this is what people with a dementia need and we are more than happy to explain how this helps improve wellbeing.

Living Environment

Osborne House has excellent communal areas offering flexibility, choice with a variety of different environments including the:

  • Conservatory - where residents may enjoy the views over Ladye Bay, and residents may take their meals
  • Front Lounge - where residents may enjoy the television and song and dance sessions with the piano
  • Rear Lounge - where residents may enjoy the radio or a CD and where the majority of activities take place
  • Dining room - which is also used for activities throughout the day

Warm fresh air is ducted into communal rooms all year round. The residents do not like windows to be open, so another way was found to deliver much needed fresh air. This system resulted in a four-fold reduction in chest infections. Daylight bulbs have also been fitted so that residents receive around 96% of the natural daylight spectrum supplementing vitamin D levels.
