Our Facilities

Osborne House is a Victorian house beautifully located overlooking the Severn Estuary..

We aim to provide a facility that makes sense to the people who live here. This means that Osborne House is likely to be more cluttered than you might expect, however this is what people with a dementia need and we are more than happy to explain how this helps improve wellbeing.

Dining & Food

At Osborne House mealtimes are a key part of the day and residents are encouraged to participate in preparing and choosing food wherever possible promoting independence and choice.

Breakfast is flexible where residents decide when to eat and are encouraged to select cereals and beverages from highly visible displays and to make toast wherever possible. This flexible, proactive approach has been very successful in encouraging our residents to eat a good breakfast.

At lunchtime meal choices are presented in a well lit and heated professional catering trolley so that residents may select by both sight and smell often choosing a combination of menus to suit their particular need. This approach is very present and in the moment and supports the needs of a person with a dementia who may not be able to understand a description of the food, or remember what might have been ordered.

Tea and supper are again provided in an informal and tactile way so that residents enjoy a sustained level of nutrition throughout the day.
