Our Facilities

Osborne House is a Victorian house beautifully located overlooking the Severn Estuary..

We aim to provide a facility that makes sense to the people who live here. This means that Osborne House is likely to be more cluttered than you might expect, however this is what people with a dementia need and we are more than happy to explain how this helps improve wellbeing.

The Gardens

The gardens at Osborne House offer an attractive frontage with a protected evergreen Holly Oak and landscaped gardens which are offset by Victorian walling finished in Bath stone, recently professionally refurbished to their original glory.

The front gardens overlook Ladye Bay, and the land in between is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. SSSI status was granted to protect the mineral rich cliffs. This does mean that sometimes the West side of Bay Road can look a little unkempt, but at least one can be sure that the blackberries in autumn are organic.

The rear gardens offer a safe area of enjoyment for a person with a dementia. Our landscape designer has been commissioned to produce a design to further enhance the sensory and tactile experience for a person with a dementia and to generate areas of interest, occupation and exploration for our people. The designs will be implemented in 2007.

The gardens currently provide a safe and sheltered area, with a variety of interesting plants and sturdy comfortable hardwood furniture for the enjoyment of residents.
