Activity Therapy - Capturing Memories
One of the activities we carry out at Osborne House is a reminiscence session where a qualified support worker comes to Osborne House to interact and entertain the residents. Every month there is a different topic, such as, Jobs & Trades, Holidays & Leisure and currently Hobbies & Pastimes. During the sessions residents are involved in discussions regarding their own personal experiences and memories. Residents get the opportunity to taste different foods, watch various film extracts and generally have a good time sociallising.
These sessions have been happening for some time now and we believe they are invaluable to our residents. We have recently had a new initiative where we capture the memories discussed by individual residents and enter them in the relevant persons care plan. This enables our staff to learn more about our residents and have richer conversations with them regarding their own lives and experiences.
Captured memories
