Rex Mackrill

Rex is the Registered Manager and owner of Osborne House. Rex is very keen on training and development both for himself and his team. He has completed the Dementia Voice Dementia Manager's course together with foundation and communication in dementia also from Dementia Voice. He has completed the Dementia Care Mapping course with the University of Bradford and is currently studying for a Diploma in Dementia Care with the University of Surrey and Dementia Care Matters and for the City and Guilds NVQ 4 in Health and Social Care run by North Somerset Council. Prior to this Rex had completed a Psychology qualification with the Open University.

Previously Rex worked for British Aerospace, Lonrho and as a business change consultant with Deloitte. Rex also holds a BSc (Hons) from the University of Leeds, an MBA and is a Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society.

Jo Richards

Jo is the Kitchen Manager, leading the kitchen and housekeeping teams. Jo's food has been recognised by the CSCi Inspector as tasty and appealing. She has been the cook at Osborne House for around 6 years.

Jo holds an advanced food hygiene certificate and has achieved consistently good food hygiene reports from the Environmental Health Inspector. Jo welcomes residents into the kitchen and involves our people in food activities as part of her care for residents. Jo also plays a lead role at lunchtime engaging residents with the food using the serving trolley.

Jo holds the Alzheimer's Society Certificate 'Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow' and is currently studying for a National Open College Network (NOCN) qualification in Activities Therapy to further enhance her ideas on how she might engage with our residents.

Helen Ellis

Helen leads the care team. Helen has a varied background working with people including her work in care, as a beauty therapist and as a travel agent. Helen holds the Alzheimer's Society Certificate 'Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow', the NOCN qualification in Activities Therapy and is currently studying for the NOCN qualification in Dementia together with completing her NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care.
